Although it sounds like the weapon of choice for Hacksaw Jim Duggan, 2X4 is actually a cool brand from the land down under that has the perfect formula for putting together a great artist designed series: 2 shirts X 4 artists = 8 well designed and finely made tees per series. Their first release is pretty impressive with artists like Noah Butkus, who is just coming off a show at the Turntable Lab LA store, and Adam Cruickshank, whose site you need to check out because he is just insanely talented. These two guys designed my favorite shirts of the series, which you can see above and below.
The ‘Just The Two Of Us’ tee is a good example of Butkus’ signature ninja/zombie mashup characters that look very eerie, but somehow likeable. And Cruickshank’s ‘Hawt Dog’ tee is an amusing design with some very interesting interaction between the horizontal halves - stirring up images of everything from Lady And The Tramp to that infamous scene in Requiem For a Dream.
Jeff Canham and Emil Kozak are the two other artists who brought some equally impressive design credentials to the series.
