If you were a skateboarder out on Long Island in the mid 90’s, chances are you heard of the Lola Prentice skate-park. This legendary adolescent refuge is the inspiration for LOLA New York - a lifestyle brand created by a collective of artists who shredded its makeshift plywood ramps as childhood friends. Their designs have a real clean and simple look with an air of high fashion cut with a street edge. One of their hottest new designs is the “Love Your Family Shirt” which features a bold four-times repeated print of the brand name. The design takes a classic couture look and flips it with LOLA’s own sensibility. According to designer James Cruickshank, “Instead of the standard ‘New York, London, Tokyo, Milan’ tagline used by fashion houses, we say ‘New York, New York, New York.’ ” So if you want to represent NY in style, check out the LOLA New York site.
