Coin Studio – Foda tee

Comment (1)

coin-studio-foda.jpg

Coin Studio describe themselves as “a group of stylish guys who wanna show fashionable ideas via Hong Kong-made series.” This FODA tee is a pretty cool fashionable idea. Although I have no clue what a foda is, this bold design looks like a good time. At first glance it seems like just a bright angular collage, but a closer look at the scattered appendages reveals a dirty little touch.

We got another new brand in and these shirts are just fire! RZST is a brand out of Cali that’s doing it right on every level. The designs are just dope, the fit is perfect, and the cotton is soft as silk. The images range from nostalgic to slightly political with the O.G. Darth Vader and the angel winged soldiers. SIXPACK Tees

sixpack_parra_je-suis-funky.gif

Sixpack is a brand from France that’s putting out ridiculously hot artist designed tees. Unfortunately my 4 years of high school French have failed me and I have no idea what their ‘About Us’ page says, but from what I can tell SIXPACK puts out strictly artist designed tees in a similar manner to Upper Playground here in the US. Some of my favorite collaborations include Parra, the insanely talented Dutchman who we’ve written about here, and the Danish artist Huskmitnavn, who creates winding cartoon figures similar to Parra but with a brilliance all his own.

The ‘Je Suis Funky’ (I am funky) tee is done in Parra’s signature style, with bright colors, expertly composed lettering, and the ever enjoyable, weirdly erotic female figure. You can check out some more of his work here.

I wasn’t familiar with Huskmitnavn before, but browsing through his I realized I’ve seen his images gracing the pages of magazines everywhere. I got a big kick out of this wolf tee he did for SIXPACK. It really satisfies my frustration with cartoon villains never catching their prey – like why the hell didn’t Sylvester just bite Tweety’s freaking head off? This wolf looks like he’s had the same frustration, trembling with excitement at the prospect of actually devouring this helpless little porkster. Check out Huskmitnavn’s site for some more of his work.

Spotted On The Street: Jeepney – Red Light Marauder tee

I came across this pic while I was looking through my camera trying to piece together the fuzzy details of the weekend. I don’t remember taking it, but I’m glad a raging alcohol binge doesn’t stop me from keeping a look out for dope tees. Looks like this guy had a fun time in his Jeepney tee. Click the link below and you can too!

Zerofriends x Alex Pardee x Upper Playground - False Hope Tee

zerofriends_falsehope.jpg

Alex Pardee is a remarkably talented Bay Area artist who has done a lot of great work for the street art institution Upper Playground. The ‘False Hope’ tee was apparently done for Upper Playground as well, but I’ve never actually seen it on their site. It’s quite unfortunate if this one didn’t make the cut cause the design is just sick! Alex is well known for his engaging, horror-influenced characters, and his gift for making the seemingly repugnant look beautiful. The conjoined alien figures on this tee are a perfect example , evoking images o advanced beings brooding over the fate of our universe. Check out Alex’s site for more info on his work.

SPRFKR - Can’t Be Naked

Why do you want this shirt? “Because you can’t be naked all the time.” That’s the simple message the guys at Super + Fucker are always trying to spread and their designs make it hard to disagree. This tee has that hazy tropical island feel with the exotic island chick and the trippy red lettering. So show your love for the ripest fruits of nature and check this one out in the shop.

Beautiful Decay x James Callahan – Barf 3D shirt

beautiful-decay-barf-3d.jpg

Beautiful Decay always has a knack for finding breakthrough creative talent and that’s why their artist series tees are some of the most exceptional around. This sketched beauty is brought to us by the masterful hand of comic book illustrator, James Callahan, whose exquisitely deranged line work has garnered him the description “retarded genius”. Looking at the “Barf 3D” shirt, I would have to say that I agree. Not only is the skull on the shirt puking its freaking brains out, but its loony tune collection of thoughts is spewing everywhere as well. And if that didn’t repulse you enough, you can put on a pair of specs and enjoy this gross display in glorious three-dimensional reality. I think this might be a perfect self-portrait for a “retarded genius” like James. Check out his site for comics, skateboard decks, and more.

Like the man said, “Cuz tha boyz n tha hood are always hard.” Only Eazy E could look this gangsta printed on a buttery-soft slim fit tee, and now you can too. Just put this on, reach back like a pimp, and slap a hoe!
